We offer meaningful ways for community groups, companies, clubs, or other service groups to work together and make a difference in our community. Team-building volunteer activities are a win-win for everyone, benefiting both the volunteer groups and families in need.
We welcome both local groups and those visiting San Diego. Here are some ways to get involved:
Serve a Meal
This a great opportunity for groups of 10-15 people. Learn more about serving a meal and schedule your group. Volunteers may also rotate among tasks including meal preparation and service, cleaning, and craft tables for children.
Donate
A donation can be part of a team building activity. For example, the Oppenheimer Funds distribution team hosted its national symposium in San Diego, and Ronald McDonald House was chosen as one of the beneficiaries of their charitable giving.
Conference attendees helped stuff 100 teddy bears to deliver to our House, in addition to a $10,000 donation in support of programs and services at the House.
Sponsor an Event
Your group can support our mission by sponsoring one of our events, putting together volunteer teams for Red Shoe Day, or even organizing and hosting your own event and designating San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House as the beneficiary of your fundraiser. We have many community groups who do this – see who’s hosting upcoming Community Events.
Organize a Campaign
Another option is to organize a campaign as a group using our online campaign portal. It allows you to set a campaign goal for your group, customize your own landing page, and let people donate online specifically to your campaign. It’s a great way to track how much your efforts are raising, and convenient for your group.
